Crowdstats.eu has arrived to keep you up-to-date on the state of crowdfunding campaigns in Europe. Crowdstats.eu is a unique resource to keep an eye on the health of the sector at all times, thanks to a data visualisation project that makes reading the data simple and intuitive.
Through interactive maps, tables and charts, the site collects data from 2021 on all campaigns developed by equity crowdfunding platforms active in Europe. Users can easily extract information by applying search filters such as the country of reference or the platform hosting the campaigns.
The data available on Crowdstats.eu show that there are a total of 35 platforms active in Europe that ran at least one campaign in 2021, 1043 projects proposed for a total of €1,023,597,307 in capital raised (remember that 2021 was a record year for equity crowdfunding).
In order to create the Word Cloud graph, which groups projects on the basis of the reference sector, the keyword field was normalised, trying to make the descriptive tags assigned by each portal to the hosted crowdfunding projects as homogeneous as possible.
The numbers highlight the existence of a dense 'jungle' of categories. In a near future in which crowdfunding will be increasingly widespread and without national borders, it will be useful to standardise the categories to which projects belong, in order to better understand the target market of the various campaigns and to be able to make effective comparisons, both a posteriori and during the active phase of the campaign.
Crowdstats.eu is the result of a collaboration between Favilla, the startup that collects crowdinvesting data on a daily basis, and BStreams, NextInt Lab's reporting and data visualisation project. Together they have created the world's first aggregator and comparator of equity crowdfunding projects dedicated to investors, industry experts, journalists and researchers.
The site provides a wealth of data and anyone interested in this information - for commercial, research or marketing reasons, or even just to understand how the equity crowdfunding sector is moving - can easily access visualisations that are updated in real time and can be easily downloaded in Excel.
